Ismael Ávila is a biomedical innovation strategist and technology transfer leader with extensive experience bridging science, clinical practice and market deployment across Europe. He currently leads Impact, Quality & Intelligence, Technology Transfer & Translation initiatives within a major research hospital ecosystem in Barcelona, where he supports the development, protection and commercialisation of high-impact health innovations, from early discovery to spin-off creation and licensing.
With a background spanning translational research, IP strategy, venture building and public-private collaboration, Ismael has accompanied multidisciplinary teams in oncology, advanced therapies, medical devices and digital health through validation, regulatory positioning and investor readiness processes. He regularly evaluates deep-tech and biotech projects from both a scientific and commercial perspective, integrating feasibility, differentiation, scalability and societal impact.
