Elena Moreno Castillo

Elena Moreno Castillo studied Biochemistry at Havana University, Cuba, where she also started gaining her academic teaching experience. Her path then led her to Germany, where she earned a PhD in Biochemistry.

Feeling a bit uncertain about her future during her postdoctoral research in Barcelona, she began exploring alternative science-related career paths. Over the course of two years, she delved into job market research, crafted and refined her CV, optimized her LinkedIn profile, and participated in numerous interviews. Through this process, she realized how much she had learned—and decided to share her insights into the job search and the transition from academia to industry.

Now, as part of the Training and Academic Office at CRG, Elena is in a strategic position to advise fellow scientists as they pursue their dream careers.
