Marina Alvarez Estape has an undergraduate degree in Genetics from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Research from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. She is currently finishing her PhD on conservation genomics. During her bachelor’s she created visual aids to explain genetic concepts during genetic counselling sessions. She is highly passionate about communicating science and ideas in a visual way. Over the last years she has created graphic abstracts, summary figures and presentations which have been used in high-impact research papers and scientific presentations for congresses or ERC grant interviews, among others. She was awarded for her scientific communication skills in the RIN4’ 2021 and has performed multiple outreach activities.
