Alexandros Nikolaou

Alex holds a PhD in Bio-engineering from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. He moved to Barcelona in 2013, where he led an immunological project on infertility at the spin-off company Cimab. Since 2015, he gained experience in the European funding programmes H2020 and Horizon Europe working as a Pre-award Grants Specialist and Scientific Project Manager at CRG, and as Head of the Project Management Office of the Primary Health Care Research Institute (IDIAP Jordi Gol). At present, he scouts for funding opportunities and coordinates ongoing projects at the spin-off company Flomics Biotech. 

Alex applies project management techniques and tools (e.g. Asana) to his day-to-day work and enjoys teaching about it to researchers.
