The practice of mindfulness is increasingly recognised as an effective method for improving self-management and reducing stress. Scientists’ achievement orientated work styles and rhythms can sometimes aggravate a tendency to disconnect from the present moment and lose perspective on priorities. This course will introduce participants to mindfulness as a tool for enhanced self-effectiveness through an improved sense of moment by moment awareness.

The course will be based on the MBSR* program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn and will focus particularly on addressing the stress faced by scientists in their everyday working lives.

Andrés Martín Asuero was trained in Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the University Medical Center, Massachusetts. He lectures and trains professional teams in personal development including stress reduction and self-mastery. Among his customers are large hospitals and health institutions.
