When a doctor with a research background takes a job in a neuropsychiatric unit with undiagnosed catatonic patients, he trials a new drug which has dramatic effects. Patients awaken to find they have lost decades of their lives and the world has changed. But the dream has a harsh reality that raises questions about the nature of consciousness and the mind body relationship as well as the ethics of clinical trials.
